Happy 2010

We had a great Christmas and are eager to see what 2010 has in store for the Wongs. Quinn is growing fast! We were warned this would happen. He loves to play in his excersaucer and just got a walker, but can only go backwards so far. He also has a jumper, but hasn't quite figured out how to make himself bounce yet. So for now, its just a lot of spinning in circles. But soon he will be headlining for Cirque du Soleil. Quinn's real talent is talking (cooing and babbling) nonstop! He has a lot to tell the world. James and I just can't wait to know what it is. Quinn loves listening to children's music and I'm trying to like it too, but sometimes I feel like I'm living in the loony bin as I blast kiddie songs. Ahh, how time changes.

In other news, I'm getting ready to launch my business. I've finished my website and am keeping a professional blog at that site too. Check out the website here. I plan to work 3 days a week and am hoping I'll be able to attract the right clients. Its a big leap for me and I would have to say I'm equally excited as I am nervous.

Christmas is in the Air!

I love Christmas time. This is a very special Christmas for us. The first Christmas in our new home with hour new son! We are truly blessed. We had a wonderful time at Grammie Crandall's annual Christmas party this past Sunday. Quinn had fun socializing and being held by everyone. On Monday Quinn went to visit Santa. He, of course, had no idea who Santa was, but wasn't scared either.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving with James's family in Maryland. The ride down was long, but Quinn slept most of the way so we only had to stop once. The ride back was a little harder, but still we felt like it was quite an accomplishment to go on such a long road trip with a 3 month old. It's so fun to see Quinn interact with his Wong side of the family. He's so lucky to be exposed to the Chinese language. James's dad even game Quinn a Chinese name. It sounds sort of like Hugh-Quinn, which means very understanding gentleman.

Thanksgiving 2009 - Much to be thankful for!

It was fun to see Angela, too bad she was sick.

The Desires of Our Hearts

Just a quick note to say how thankful I am to God for giving me the desires of my heart. I'm so happy to be able to stay at home and take care of Quinn, and so happy to be starting this new business that utilizes my love of children and my law school education. When I had to leave the glitzy "Big Law" world this past spring I felt so lost and confused. But God keeps his promises :)

27 Already?

Tomorrow is my 27th birthday. I'm now officially in my late twenties. Makes me want to reflect a little. In some ways, I'm just where I always imagined I'd be - married, a mom, and a lawyer. It was the getting here that was a lot different and harder than I anticipated. I am so thankful for a wonderful husband and super cute son, a great relationship with my family, and those few special friends that still stay in touch. The big challenge right now is the whole career thing. I'm working hard and trusting that God has the perfect plan for me. He hasn't let me down yet!

Spit-Up and Up-North

Quinn has been really fussy and unhappy for the last several weeks due to severe reflux (aka lots of spit-up). He's on medicine now, but the doctor says it probably won't start working for two more weeks. I'm hoping she's wrong and it works must faster. There's nothing worse than a nearly inconsoible baby! The good news is that he's still gaining lots of weight, which means he's still absorbing enough food. And who said this was going to be easy, right?

A rare, content moment

This morning James, Quinn, and I got up at 5am to take a ride up to Dartmouth. It was my first time back since I graduated four and a half years ago. I had so many mixed emotions. My life is so different now, and yet so much of Dartmouth remains the same. Overall, it was really fun bringing Quinn to a place that has such a special place in my heart.
